One Male For Bail Court Following Domestic Incident A 41 year old male was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 shortly after midnight in the east end of the city subsequent to a domestic disturbance.

A 41 year old male was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 shortly after midnight in the east end of the city subsequent to a domestic disturbance. It is alleged that the accused attended the residence of his girlfriend where he forced entry and there in willfully caused damage to her apartment. The accused further resisted officers who attended to remove him. He was subsequently charged with Break and Enter and Resist Peace Officer.

Inmate at ARTC Charged With Drug Possession

18 year old Andrew Robert Petts of No Fixed Address was charged on the 29th of September 2009 at 8:19 p.m. at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre (his present place of abode). It is alleged that keen jail staff members located a small quantity of a controlled substance that the accused had attempted to conceal. At the time Mr. Petts was bound by a condition of Probation to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. He is awaiting Bail Court as well.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

39 year old Ronald James Stewart was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 2:20 a.m. at his residence at 253 Poplar Avenue in relation to an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear for finger prints on the 1st of September 2009. He is to appear in court on the 9th of November 2009.

Male Arrested on Canada Wide Warrant

30 year old Yasin Samanci of Calgary Alberta was arrested on the 30th of September 2009 at 1:35 a.m. at the Villa Inn (724 Great Northern Road) on the basis of an outstanding warrant. The warrant was a Canada Wide Immigration Warrant. He is currently awaiting deportation to Turkey.

Break and Enter

A residence in the 100 Block of Wellington Street West was broken into sometime between the 25th and the 29th of September 2009. Numerous items were stolen including a television set.

Thefts

Bicycles were reported stolen in the 100 block of Carufel Avenue, on Manilla Terrace, on Gore Street, and on Malabar Drive. Citizens are reminded to secure their bicycles at all times when unattended.

A vehicle in the 400 block of Elizabeth Street had one of its windows smashed and a wallet was stolen. Citizens are reminded to remove all items of value from their vehicles.
