A woman faces assault charges after an incident that took place over the weekend, Sault Ste. Marie Police say in a news release issued this morning.
Police say they responded to a call around 11:30 a .m. on Saturday morning of a woman assaulting a victim at a residence in the 100 block of James Street.
Upon investigation, police say they determined that the accused struck the victim in the face and also attempted to hit them with a bottle before leaving the area.
Officers located the accused around 11:45 a.m. and as a result, Olivia Schadel, 32, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
She was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 18.
