QUIET NIGHT EXCEPT FOR THE BEARS City police had a very quiet night last night. There was one fender-bender in the Prince Lake area. Police also responded to four bear sightings. At 11:15 p.m. yesterday a bear was seen in the Industrial Park.

MORE CHARGES LAID (updated at 2:30p.m. today) Late yesterday evening at 10:50, police arrested 46-year-old Craig Remeau of Colorado Springs for impaired driving. Investigations resulting from the arrest led to further charges.

SEXUAL ASSAULT Early yesterday morning, at about 3:00, police were called to the General Hospital where a 27-year-old female reported that a 30-year-old male, known to her, had assaulted her.

BREAK AND ENTERS The Sault Police Service investigated two break and enters yesterday. The first was to a residence in the 100 block of Lindstedt Street. The entry took place over the weekend while the homeowners were away.

The Sault Police Service was kept busy over the weekend with over 280 calls, most of a minor nature. There were 12 bear sightings reported. BREAK & ENTER WITH THREATS On Saturday at about 12:30 p.m.

BREAK AND ENTERS A home on Railroad Avenue was broken into yesterday afternoon. Thieves rummaged through the contents although nothing is reported missing. Entry was gained through a rear door. An apartment on St. Mary's River Drive was entered.

BREAK AND ENTERS The Sault Police Service investigated two forced entries to garages yesterday. Unknown persons entered garages in the 500 block of Cathcart Street and the 400 block of Second Line West.
