The Sault Climate Hub is hosting a webinar presentation by Dr. Christine Stortini of Fisheries and Oceans Canada on Wednesday, November 27th at 7:30 pm.
Christine Stortini is a Sault Ste. Marie-born marine biologist. She completed both her BSc and Master of Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax, and her PhD in theoretical marine ecology at Queen’s University in Kingston. She has worked in the fields of climate change vulnerability assessment and conservation planning for climate change resilience.
In this presentation Christine will give an overview of the basics of marine biology and oceanography to the more complex topic of the give-and-take relationship between Humans and the ever-changing Ocean. She will outline the number of ways Humans are connected to, rely on, and impact the Ocean, what we can expect as a result of climate change in the Ocean, and what every-day citizens can do about it.
All are welcome!
