SooToday, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society and The Animal Assistance Group (TAAG), brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

**************************

This is Mama who is a pastel calico, approximately two years old. Mama recently had a litter of kittens who have been weaned and have found their new families. Mama is scheduled for spay on Sept. 3 and once she has recuperated, she will be ready for her own forever home.

Mama is currently in a foster home where she has proven to be very playful and loves to race down the hallway. Her favourite is jumping really high in the air with little toys. Mama likes to sleep close to the warmth of her foster mom and dad. She loves getting scratches and being petted.

Mother cats are special. They have been through so much, giving birth to litters of kittens and seeing them go to adoptive homes.

Mama’s foster parents think they she would do best in a home without other pets so she can get all the attention.

One unfortunate result of the viral pandemic is the impact on the innocent lives of cats and dogs, the dumping of pets, and the explosion of unwanted kittens and homeless cats. TAAG is looking for help. Contact TAAG if you are interested in fostering a cat or two.

As a non-profit animal rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of those who wish to be stewards of abandoned animals who cannot care for themselves or to help those pets who have families in need of emergency vet care.
