Adopt Me: Rose was feral but she has come a long way (adopted)

She gets along with other cats, but would prefer a home without dogs

SooToday, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society and The Animal Assistance Group (TAAG), brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Rose

(Humane Society)

Rose is a beautiful one-year-old female tabby cat that has been with us here at the shelter since the beginning of February. She was a young feral cat that had been removed from a feral colony in Searchmont.

Early on she showed a lot of curiosity towards people and was willing to allow the staff to work with her daily to help her get used to being touched and handled by people.

She loves playing with any cat toy that has feathers and loves to play with wand toys with the staff. She now allows us to pet her, touch her paws and even pick her up if we are nice and slow about it.

We feel that this girl has a lot of potential to be a wonderful companion, but she would need a home that has a lot of cat experience and preferably previous experience working with feral cats.

Ideally she would need her own room so she is confined to a specific area of the house while you work on building a bond with her. Rose does get along with other cats but would do best without dogs.
