Air Canada will be offering more flights between Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto in August.
In an e-mail sent out to customers today, the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation (SSMADC) stated as of Aug. 10, Air Canada will be offering two flights daily for the month of August.
Air Canada had originally suspended all flights between the Sault and Toronto on April 2 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On June 22, Air Canada resumed flights, offering five between the Sault and Toronto every week. The August increase will mean more than double the flights between the two cities.
Bearskin Airlines is offering scheduled and chartered flights, operating up to four flights daily from the Sault Sunday to Friday to Sudbury and/or Thunder Bay throughout the month of August.
Porter suspended flights on March 21 and has plans to resume service on Aug. 30.
All Sunwing flights have been cancelled until Aug. 31.

While the Canadian government has implemented travel restrictions on land crossings for leisure travel, passengers can still enter and leave the country by air.
However, the federal government is still advising that non-essential travel outside Canada be avoided due to COVID-19.
