The Sault’s Holly Lasante, along with her daughter Taylor and son Noah, are off to Minsk, Belarus in June for the World Powerlifting Championships.
Taylor and Noah inspired their Mom to get involved in powerlifting, and since then, the three have become a true power trio.
Recently, Holly, a Pollard Bank Note human resources professional, won a gold medal at the Canadian National Championships in Quebec, setting a new national deadlift record of 355 pounds.
Noah, a White Pines Collegiate student, has also won gold in his category and has set a new national bench record of 303 pounds.
Taylor, a Sault College student, has also done well on the national stage, reaching new personal bests in squats and bench press lifts.
Apart from their already busy lives as employees and students, the family works out together at a local gym and trains others at their home.
A GoFundMe site is currently up and running to help the family with expenses involved in travelling to the World Championships.
