Ever wanted to fly across the world, explore the ocean, and go on a wild roller coaster ride all in one sitting? It’s now possible with the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre’s new 3D adventures.
“Visitors can come into our theatre and sit down with a headset - social distancing and COVID-19 protocols will be in place - and we’ll show our three short films back-to-back in one sitting. The viewing will be approximately 20 minutes,” said Brian Bubinas, curator at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
The 3D adventures will launch on Wednesday, Aug. 12 and will be shown until Sep. 6, 2020.
“The first film, The Extraordinary Journey, gives you a bird’s-eye view of gliding and flying through space while visiting different international monuments around the world. The second film, called Blue Magic, features the beauty and wonders of the ocean, all guided and narrated by a sea tortoise. It has a good ecological message about how humans affect the ocean. The third film, Canyon Coaster, is a first person point of view of a roller coaster ride through a canyon. You actually feel like you’re on a roller coaster, it’s really fun,” he said.
There will be an option of skipping Canyon Coaster if viewers are uncomfortable with roller coasters.
Bubinas says that the staff have been screening the films internally and have been getting a lot of positive feedback.
“It’s something we’re all excited to have here for the last month of the summer,” he said.
The 3D adventures will be free with admission to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
Admission is $13.50 for adults, with one free child admission for every adult.
COVID-19 protocols will be in effect. Face shields will be provided and put on before the headsets for viewer’s protection, and headsets will be sanitized before and after every use.
