VIDEO: Greenwood students step up to help Ukraine

Grade 4-5 students at Greenwood Elementary have been hard at work producing hundreds of buttons, bookmarks, necklaces, and crochet hearts to raise funds for Ukraine

Natasha Coles' Grade 4-5 students at Greenwood Elementary have been hard at work producing hundreds of buttons, bookmarks, necklaces, and crochet hearts to raise funds for Red Cross's humanitarian efforts overseas in Ukraine.

It's unknown how much funds have been raised so far, but it's more than $2,000.

The initiative started internally, but was quickly picked up by the community which jumped on board selling the products around town including: City Meat, Showstoppers, The Olive Branch, Soup Witch , Savoys, and more.

One student, Cameron Bazzo, donated $200, which is the entirety of his piggy bank funds.

"Someone in Ukraine needs it more than I do," says Cameron.  "It makes me feel good that our class is helping out people who need a lot of help right now."

If you'd like to help you buy something from one of the many contributing businesses or directly to red cross through their website here.
