Algoma University students will once again be able to hit the slopes at Searchmont Ski Resort this winter season.

Algoma University and Searchmont Ski Association Inc. (SSAI) will be continuing their partnership for the 2017-18 season, allowing full-time students the luxury of a season pass at no charge. This partnership demonstrates Algoma’s ongoing commitment to providing students with a variety of extra-curricular activities that complement their academic studies.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Algoma University. This is an excellent opportunity to continue to build our relationship with their students and we are grateful to have them join the Searchmont family,” said Colin Wilson, general manager at Searchmont Ski Resort.

This is the second year Algoma University and SSAI have provided this unique opportunity to students.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Searchmont Ski Resort,” said Tom Mauro, director of Ancillary and Student Services at Algoma U. “This partnership provides our students with access to one of the province’s premiere ski areas. Many of our students took advantage of this great opportunity last year and used their time on the slopes as an opportunity to take their minds of their course work and meet new friends.”

To be eligible for the season pass, students must be enrolled in at least nine credits per semester for the 2017-18 academic year.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of Searchmont Ski Resort’s Snow Bus to get to and from the resort.
