Algoma University announced today that it will postpone this year’s John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner celebration.
“Given the 20th anniversary of the event, the committee felt strongly that this was the most appropriate approach,” said the planning committee in a news release. “We look forward to collectively celebrating our honouree Diane Marshall when we are able to safely gather.”

The John R. Rhodes Scholarship was established in 1979 through generous donations from friends and family of the late John Rhodes. Traditionally, this award is presented at an in-person event honouring the memory of John Rhodes while raising additional funds to support the continued offering of this prestigious scholarship to students at Algoma University.
After careful consideration, the John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner Planning Committee has decided to postpone this year’s event until we can celebrate safely in person. Given the 20th anniversary of the event, the Committee felt strongly that this was the most appropriate approach. We look forward to collectively celebrating our honouree Diane Marshall when we are able to safely gather.
