Area home sales above five- and 10-year averages for month of July: CREA

Home sales were 23.3 per cent above the five-year average and 40.9 per cent above the 10-year average for the month of July

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association's statistics, a new record was set for the month of July, with the dollar value of all homes sold hitting $63.6 million.

This marks a significant gain of 46.9 per cent from the year previous.

CREA is also reporting the lowest number of new listings added in the month of July in a decade.

In July 2021:

  • 239 residential units were sold
  • $266,159 was the average price of homes sold
  • 245 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in July 2020:

  • 221 residential units were sold
  • $191,297 was the average price of homes sold
  • 238 new residential listings were posted

In June 2021:

  • 250 residential units were sold
  • $286,088 was the average price of homes sold
  • 318 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in June 2020:

  • 208 residential units were sold
  • $210,824 was the average price of homes sold
  • 292 new residential listings were posted
