City police are reminding those who own portable basketball hoops that they must move them back when not in use.
"Lately, basketball nets left unattended on or near the roadway have been making it difficult for school buses to safely pick up and drop off students," police said in a Facebook post.
"If your street has a sidewalk: Move your basketball net back into your driveway when not in use. Never leave it between the sidewalk and the road.
"If your street does not have a sidewalk: Turn or move your basketball net away from the curb so it is not hanging over the roadway," the post said.
Police also reminded people about the city's bylaw, which states that "no person shall leave unattended any obstruction on any boulevard, to wit an obstruction may include any basketball net, hockey net, skateboard ramp or any other object that interferes with the safe movement of pedestrians or vehicles."
