Beware of fraud: Batchewana shelter not looking for donations

The Nimkii-Naabkawagan Family Crisis Shelter in Batchewana First Nation is not currently accepting donations of clothing, furniture, or other items, says a news release.

In addition the shelter is not soliciting monetary or actively fundraising.

"While we deeply appreciate generosity and support from our community, we urge the public to be cautious of fraudulent solicitations," said the release.

To ensure legitimacy, any official fundraising campaigns through Batchewana First Nation will display a valid license number in accordance with Batchewana First Nation’s licensing requirements.
