The winners are in — and all but one took the cash instead of the car.
The Sault Area Hospital Foundation's annual 5-Car Draw included five grand prizes, in addition to a number of early bird prizes.
Here are the winners:
- Grand Prize 1: Patricia Zehr of Sault Ste. Marie, who was celebrating her 36th anniversary on draw day. She had a choice between a Toyota Camry-Hybrid or $35,000 cash — and chose to drive off with the car.
- Grand Prize 2: William Tryon of Sault Ste. Marie, who had the choice between a Honda CRV-Hybrid or $40,000 cash. Caught by surprise when he found out he won, he eventually chose the cash prize.
- Grand Prize 3: Jacqueline Mynott of M’Chigeeng, who had a choice between a Kia Telluride or $45,000 cash. She settled on the cash prize.
- Grand Prize 4: Susan Mclean of Sault Ste. Marie had to choose between a Chevy Silverado or $60,000 cash. After taking a few days to decide, she walked away with the money.
- Grand Prize 5: Jacob Stubbe of Richards Landing was given the choice between a Ford Mach-E Mustang or $65,000 cash. He, too, pocketed the money.
There were also 11 early bird winners who won $500 gas gift cards. They are:
