City says 'significant weather event' has ended

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to continue to use caution

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has ended its Significant Weather Event affecting city roads and sidewalks.

The city sent out a notice shortly after 8:30 p.m. saying the declaration that weather was impacting its operations had come to and end.

"Drivers and pedestrians are asked to continue to use caution as conditions may vary from one area to another," the city said. 

"The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during this weather event."

Public Works will continue to deploy crews to address any snow and ice accumulation, the city said.
