Fresh Eyes 2025, a unique Sault creative community initiative officially launched on May 7.

Forty-six photographers and writers have committed to reimagining the City from multiple creative perspectives.

The Fresh Eyes photography submissions window closes May 14, with literary submissions interpreting the images selected for final Fresh Eyes project publication closing July 1.

“No Canadian city has ever been captured in this way”, said Fresh Eyes committee member Bryan Davies.

“This is our creative community and some keen ‘out of town’ talents building something wonderful together. For many centuries, artists of all kinds have provided provocative, cutting edge expressions of what their times and places meant to them. Our Fresh Eyes contributors are a modern day testament to this grand creative tradition.”

Every image submitted to Fresh Eyes during the initial photography phase will soon be available for free public viewing on select websites, the Downtown Plaza big screen, Art Hub at Spring, and other Sault locations that will be announced shortly.

Internationally acclaimed Sault nature and conservation photographer Gary McGuffin is overseeing the first Fresh Eyes phase. The final publication will be entirely co-owned by its contributors.

The Sault’s City Meat Market is a lead project sponsor. The Fresh Eyes committee encourages all Sault business community members to support this 100 percent non-profit creative endeavour.
