First responders in Sault Ste. Marie held a showcase at the Downtown Plaza Saturday morning to highlight Emergency Preparedness Week.
A number of local organizations and agencies took part in the event, including Sault Search and Rescue, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services and the Sault detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
It's a national event that educates communities across the province about the actions people can take to prepare for emergency situations, according to the Government of Ontario website.
The annual event has taken place for over 25 years and is traditionally held during the first full week of May.
