The number of homes sold in the Sault area during the month of April more than doubled from April 2020, when sales bottomed out at their lowest level for the month in nearly two decades.
The Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate Board is reporting a substantial increase, 39.9 per cent, in the average price of homes sold compared to last year.
The dollar value of homes sold in April 2021 was $63.1 million, which more than doubled the levels from a year earlier.
In April 2021:
- 235 residential units were sold
- $268,626 was the average price of homes sold
- 294 new residential listings were posted
To compare, in April 2020:
- 72 residential units were sold
- $161,444 was the average price of homes sold
- 78 new residential listings were posted
In March 2021:
- 240 residential units were sold
- $257,955 was the average price of homes sold
- 278 new residential listings were posted
To compare, in March 2020:
- 115 residential units were sold
- $195,271 was the average price of homes sold
- 57 new residential listings were posted
