Nominations are now open for the following city awards:
Recognizes exceptional community development projects. City Council presents this award to a local business or organization with the goal of highlighting innovative ideas and inspiring others to meet the standards set by successful projects.
Presented to the recipient for activities that are particularly outstanding or innovative or that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to culture as defined in the Cultural Policy for Sault Ste. Marie. This is awarded by the City of Sault Ste. Marie, upon recommendation of the Cultural Vitality Committee.
Recognizes contributions to the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of the City's Heritage Resources as defined in the Cultural Policy for the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Nominations are considered from the community and the Sault Ste. Marie Municipal Heritage Committee. An individual group or organization may be nominated, providing an excellent opportunity to reward local achievement in heritage preservation, restoration, and enhancement.
Recognizes exceptional achievements in the athletic community. Athletes, coaches, builders and teams are honoured for their accomplishments and the recognition they have brought to Sault Ste. Marie through sport.
Recognizes individuals or groups for outstanding athletic, cultural, academic, or humanitarian achievement.
