NEWS RELEASE
SAULT COLLEGE
*************************
The Sault College Job and Career Fair is taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you are looking for work or are interested in a potential new employer, then we welcome you the opportunity to meet with over 60 employers at the hiring event to be located at the Sault College Health and Wellness Centre.

A variety of jobs will be available through the Job and Career Fair, with positions available in healthcare, IT, skilled trades, engineering, law enforcement, financial, aviation, forestry, social services and business. This is one of the community’s largest career events of the year, with participating employers expecting to hire over 1,000 employees over the next six months.

Employers will be prepared to accept resumes, discuss their company and its available positions and provide valuable advice and insight into the job market. Community members, students and graduates are all welcome at the Sault College Job and Career Fair, as positions will be available for full-time, part-time and student roles. All those interested in attending should come prepared to hand out resumes to employers and to discuss their experiences and qualifications.

Ray Corcoran, Student Employment Officer at the Sault College Student Job Centre, explains that, “as one of the city’s largest career events, the Sault College Job and Career Fair provides an opportunity for job seekers to connect face-to-face with employers who are currently hiring. It provides an effective way for job seekers to network and ask employment-related questions to specific organizations that they are interested in working for. You simply cannot get this accomplished with a resume alone.”

During the event, the Employment Solutions team will be available to meet with you one-onone to offer job search support and provide information about employment services available to all job seekers in the community. Services are free and funded by Employment Ontario.

Sault College students that are interested in learning about these employment services should visit the Student Job Centre, located on campus.

For assistance preparing for this hiring event and for a sneak peek of the participating employers, Employment Solutions invites you to drop in to their office on the 4th floor of Station Tower, located at 421 Bay Street. All employment services are free, with one-on-one support available without an appointment.

The Sault College Job and Career Fair is sponsored by the Sault College Student Job Centre and Employment Solutions. Admission to the event is free for all job seekers in the community, as well as Sault College students and alumni. Free parking is available in the visitor lot off of the Willow Street entrance. Overflow metered parking will also be available off of Northern Avenue or in the Willow Street lot.
