If you’re driving north this June, you may notice parts of Highway 17 are a little nicer than usual.

On May 31, the Algoma East Masons are coming together to clean garbage along a stretch of the highway near Heyden.

With members spanning from Wawa to Elliot Lake, more than 20 Algoma East Masons are expected to show up to help with the effort.

“I know pretty much every road in the area does need some cleanup, so it's just an area that was picked,” said Don Dell from the Masons.

“We just want to make it a little nicer.”

Dell said the group will be cleaning along the highway near Mile Hill.
