The official presentation of donations collected from the second annual Rocky Ridge Halloween Haunt was made at last night's Matthews Memorial Hospital Association meeting.
A cheque for $1,019 was made by Barry and Bev Lyons to MMHA board chair, Lavera Crack.
Eight of its nine board members were present. They included Albert Crowder, Sheila Campbell, Wendy Robertson, Ann Bell, Dick Bietz, Mark Henderson and Marlee Hopkins.
Barry shared a number of highlights from the event including how it all began, the number of visitors, and the appreciation shared with his wife to the 21 volunteer actors who assisted during the three evenings as well as those who helped set up and take down the props.
Those from the board who braved the tour praised the hard work that went into designing the haunt and his or her experiences, and for those that didn't, some pledged to go next year.
The board is considering putting the donated money towards an already exiting wish list at the BridgeLink Medical Centre which includes the replacement of windows on the second floor.
Also discussed at the meeting was the date for this year's Christmas tree lighting and carolling fundraiser. It's set for on Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. in front of the BridgeLink Medical Centre.
The MMHA annual letter will be sent to all residents within the catchment area shortly.
