On Monday afternoon, five PUC powerline technicians travelled from Sault Ste. Marie to Cedarville, Michigan, to assist Cloverland Electric with repairing numerous power outages the region is currently experiencing.

As a member of the Ontario Mutual Assistance Group, PUC Services has been in contact with many other utilities to determine which Ontario local distribution companies are in need of support.

Thanks to the strong mutual aid response across the province, PUC’s available resources are currently not required in Ontario—an attestation to the strength and resilience of the utility industry in our province, a spokesperson said.

"With capacity available, PUC was proud to offer assistance to a utility facing widespread outages. We’re committed to helping those in need—even outside our own community."

The support provided by PUC will help Cloverland Electric restore power to its customers.

"We are incredibly proud of the continued dedication our staff show in delivering safe, reliable service wherever it's needed most."
