Severe thunderstorm warning issued for:
Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island
Agawa - Lake Superior Park
Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay,
Current details:
At 8:15 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts.
This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 20 kilometres southwest of Sand Bay to 15 kilometres southwest of Gargantua, moving east at 60 km/h.
Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.
Locations impacted include:
Pancake Bay Provincial Park, Montreal River Harbour, Batchawana Bay, Batchawana Bay Provincial Park and Batchawana River Provincial Park.
Utility outages are possible. Significant damage to buildings and/or trees is possible.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
