Small army takes out the trash on Queen Street

Committee members and volunteers participated for a few hours

The Sault Downtown Association held a community cleanup today where participants went up and down Queen Street picking up trash.

Executive director Nicholas Luck said the cleanup was done by roughly 20 participants who got to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Committee members and volunteers participated for a few hours.

This is not the first clean up of the year and it won’t be the last, Luck said.

“We did one last month for Earth Day and we’ll have one scheduled for October, but we might do some more over the summer,” he said, adding that they may end up collecting as many as nine or 10 full-sized garbage bags full of trash.
