Thunder Bay MP named Minister of Indigenous Services

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has given a new assignment to Thunder Bay - Superior North MP Patty Hajdu.

Hajdu has been moved from the health portfolio to Indigenous Services.

She will also be responsible for FedNor, the economic development agency for northern Ontario.

Quebec MP Jean-Yves Duclos is the new Minister of Health.

Hajdu was first elected to the House of Commons in 2015, and was re-elected in 2019 and 2021.

In 2017, Trudeau appointed her Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion.

Two years later, he gave her the health portfolio.

Cabinet ministers are paid $88,700 in addition to the annual base MP salary of $185,800.
