The International Bridge Administration says one-way crossings were up in November, according to the latest figures.

Crossings at Sault Ste. Marie were at 77,916 for the month, which brings the year-to-date total to 1,031,288 -- a 15.5 per cent increase compared to 2023. This difference in crossings comparing 2024 to 2023 is 7,170, which represents an increase of 10.1 per cent for November, a news release said.

Commuter fares make up the largest per cent of total crossings at 52.5 followed by full-fare cars at 39.5 per cent, commercial trucks at seven per cent and cars pulling trailers at one per cent.

The bridge has processed 106.5-million bridge crossings since 1962. The International Bridge funds its operational costs with toll revenue, including the bridge structure, maintenance facilities, the Bridge Authority toll plaza, and building maintenance.
