Unlock historical treasures at tour of city's public archives

Have you ever wondered what intriguing stories and historical gems lie hidden behind the doors of the Sault Ste. Marie Public Archives?

Your curiosity is about to be satisfied, according to your local library.

"The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is thrilled to announce a special opportunity for you to explore our archives like never before," the library said in a news release.

The library says it is offering free tours for the curious on Friday, Oct. 18 in one-hour time slots between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the North Branch Library, 232C Northern Ave. E.

Registration is required.

On the tour you will learn about the facility, the items it houses, and how they keep the items safe and preserved. You will also learn how you can request these items to view or make copies of.

"Get ready to embark on an engaging journey through our rich heritage," the library said. "Discover the facility that preserves the fascinating documents, photographs, and relics that shape the history of our beloved city."
