The 2023 SSM Brain Tumour Walk will be taking place this Sunday in an effort to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
Participants will traverse the entire Hub Trail in order to complete the 27-kilometre walk, which is intended to honour the 27 Canadians who are diagnosed with a brain tumour each day.
Walkers will meet in the parking lot of Anna McCrea Public School (250 Mark Street) at 8 a.m. before beginning the walk along the Hub Trail downtown. Pit stops will be set up at The Refinery, Prouse Chevrolet and Lock City Dairies for those taking part.
The event is part of a national campaign by the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada to meet its goal of raising $1.65 million for brain tumour research.
More information on this year's walk in Sault Ste. Marie can be found on the foundation’s website.
