NEWS RELEASE
CYSTIC FIBROSIS CANADA SAULT STE. MARIE CHAPTER
*********************************
On Sunday, May 25, community members from across the region will come together for the annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History, a powerful event dedicated to raising awareness and critical funds in the fight against cystic fibrosis (CF).
Hosted at the John Rhodes Outdoor Track at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Complex, the walk will bring together families, friends, supporters, and local organizations united by one goal: to improve the lives of those affected by this devastating genetic disease.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with registration and opening remarks, followed by a walk route designed for all ages and fitness levels. Participants can expect live DJ entertainment, and refreshments throughout the event.
Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. While there is no cure, advances in research and care have dramatically improved the length and quality of life for many patients. Events like this are critical in supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s mission to fund research, advocacy, and support programs across the country.
“We walk in hope, in solidarity, and in support of every person living with CF,” said Leah Senecal, local event coordinator.
“Every step taken and every dollar raised brings us closer to a cure.”
