Sault Pride today announced the full calendar for this year's Pridefest — a two-week celebration to mark the annual event's 10-year anniversary.

Below is the full press release and events calendar:

Sault Pride is excited today to release its events calendar for Sault Ste. Marie’s 10th annual Pridefest. The calendar includes both old favourites and new events, including offerings for families, youth, and the 19+ crowd. New events include a social painting night and a youth bowling night.

“As our community and its needs continue to develop, so does our programming,” says Sault Pride chair Amanda Zuke.

“Every year the roster changes a bit. This year we’re all very aware of the increasing threat 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities are facing, but the broader Sault Ste. Marie community has supported and partnered with us more strongly than ever. We feel incredibly fortunate to call this place home.”

Earlier this month, Sault Pride unveiled its commemorative button campaign; nine businesses throughout the city have the $5 buttons available for sale, and some buttons remain available to other interested vendors.

Additionally, the group co-hosted the first-ever Twins Saults Drag Pageant alongside Sault MI Pride, crowning winner Lana Von Archer the inaugural Miss Twin Sault Pride.

“We’re on a roll!” laughs Zuke, adding, “this year’s committee is incredibly strong and brimming with great ideas. Two weeks filled up in the blink of an eye. We can’t wait to show our city what we’ve been up to!”

Beginning today, the Sault Pridefest calendar is available on Facebook, Instagram, and SaultPride.ca
