You couldn't get a more normal mid-June weekend than what lies ahead over the next few days. Friday will be a touch chilly with a cool northwest wind, but daytime highs will be in the low 20s for the rest of the weekend.
There is a chance of rain moving in at the tail end of the weekend, but it will mark a transition to the hottest temperatures of 2024 so far. Next week, we should see the mercury break the 30°C mark with even warmer humidex values. This hot weather will continue all next week.
In the days ahead, a few clouds will appear Friday morning and give way to sunny skies in the afternoon. A cool northwest wind will keep daytime highs at 19°C —even colder for locations near Lake Superior.
The mostly sunny skies will continue Saturday, accompanied by southerly winds and temperatures of 23°C. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with rain moving in during the late afternoon as daytime highs reach 22°C.
Sunshine returns on Monday, and temperatures will climb into the upper twenties. Tuesday's high is likely to be in the low 30s.
