Do you play ultimate frisbee? Did you know you can play ultimate here in town, twice a week? Wednesday 6:30-8:00 and Sunday 3:00-? both at Belleview Park.
Next month, we have a chance to have some serious ultimate fun in North Bay, June 18-19. The Northern Flights Tournament brings in teams from all over the province and beyond, and at many levels of skill. So yes, even a team of new players can go out and have a lot of fun.
If you've never been to an ultimate tournament before, really consider making the trip. It'll show you dimensions of ultimate you can't experience playing pickup once a week.
You'll learn lots, and have a great time. You'll see how teams cheer each other on, especially after each game is over. There is a dinner on Saturday for everyone in the park. Parties on Friday and Saturday nights. Camping spots are available.
We'd end up playing 4-6 games over the weekend, each game between 1-1.5 hours.
The deadline to submit a team is next week. A few of us are already planning to go, and we'd rather go with a Made In The Sault team than latch on to some other squad. We've got lots of good players here, and by good I mean good attitude, spirit and willingness to play. That's what really counts.
Cost is $25 per person, and that gets you food and water at the fields, plus dinner on Sat night. Not a bad price at all.
I need to know by the end of this weekend ideally who wants to go. Female players are especially in demand. :)
