Sam Biasucci is not selling the Soo Thunderbirds after all. Biasucci told SooToday.com earlier today that he is "tired of waiting for them (a group interested in taking over the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey Association team) to get their act together. "As of now, I'm staying with the Thunderbirds as president." Biasucci also confirmed that head coach Jim Capy has decided to return to the Thunderbirds after having resigned at the end of the 2001-02 season. "Jimmy and I have a good relationship. He had thought I was going to sell the team. Now that I'm stay on, he's going to be back with us." Capy has coached the Thunderbirds for two seasons, leading them to the NOJHA championship series on both occasions. Both times, however, the Birds lost out to the Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats. Meanwhile, Dave Murphy, an assistant coach the past two seasons, takes over the director of hockey operations capacity that Capy performed in a dual role. And to help reduce Biasucci's involvement, local Subway franchise owner Al Jones becomes theThunderbirds' director of business operations. Biasucci also serves as president and co-owner of the Ontario Hockey League Soo Greyhounds.
