Colts one win away from perfect high school football regular season

Three touchdowns from Nathan Guizzetti and two more from Jack Metcalfe lifted Korah to a win over Whites Pines

With a week remaining in the high school football regular season, the Korah Colts will enter playoff action as the top seed in senior play.

The Colts remain unbeaten on the season thanks to a 51-0 win over White Pines on Friday night at Superior Heights.

Korah opened the scoring on their first possession as Nathan Guizzetti scored on a 67-yard touchdown run. With the convert from Ty Koski, the Colts took a 7-0 lead 27 seconds into the game,

Midway through the opening quarter, Guizzetti picked up his second major of the night on a six-yard touchdown run. The convert by Koski made it 14-0.

Koski added to the lead just over two minutes later as he hit a 26-yard field goal.

Prior to the end of the quarter, Nixon Blair recovered a Colts punt in the White Pines endzone to extend the Korah lead further. The convert on the play by Koski made it 24-0.

Midway through the second quarter, Colts quarterback Zayn Murdoch punched the ball in from eight yards out to give Korah a 30-0 lead heading into halftime.

Payton Melchiorre then scored on an 11-yard run that was capped off by an extra point by Koski to give Korah a 37-0 lead.

At the end of the third quarter, Jack Metcalfe scored his first of two touchdowns for the Colts, running in from a yard out. The convert by Koski made it 44-0 Colts.

In the fourth quarter, Metcalfe added his second major of the game on a 65-yard pass from Kaylob Thibodeau to cap off the scoring.

Guizzetti ran the ball three times for Korah in the win for 85 yards on the day while also picking up three tackles defensively.

Metcalfe, Turner Dickinson, and Michael Maurice also had three tackles each for Korah.

Nicolas Louttit caught four passes for 107 yards receiving for White Pines.

Isaiah Kehoe had five tackles on the defensive side for the Wolverines.

The final week of regular season play will see Korah take on Superior Heights on Thursday with St. Mary’s facing White Pines.
