Playoff time is on the horizon.
The Korah Colts clinched top spot in the senior high school football league this season thanks to a big win over the Superior Heights Steelhawks.
The Colts scored a 58-7 win over the Steelhawks and clinched top spot in the senior standings
Korah broke things open early on as Nathan Guizzetti ran the ball in from 26 yards out. The convert from Ty Koski on the play made it a 7-0 game just over four minutes in.
Just over a minute later, Guizzetti picked up his second major of the night on a 56-yard run. The convert by Koski made it a 14-0 game early.
After the Steelhawks conceded a safety to make the score 16-0, Korah quarterback Kaylob Thibodeau hit Koski for a 23-yard touchdown pass. Koski then hit the convert on the play as well.
At the end of the opening quarter, Nathan Higham added to the Colts lead with a 67-yard touchdown run with a convert on the play by Koski to make it 30-0.
In the second quarter, an interception by Koen Manchulenko returned 36 yards for a touchdown and convert by Koski made it a 37-0 game.
The Colts added three more majors in the third quarter on a two-yard run by Parker Rushton, an eight-yard run by Higham, and a 24-yard run by Payton Melchiorre. Koski hit the converts on all three.
Daikaden Gauthier had the lone touchdown for Superior Heights, scoring on a 22-yard run. Daxyn Pringle hit the extra point on the play.
Guizzetti ran the ball for 82 yards on a pair of running plays for the Colts.
Turner Dickinson had 2.5 tackles defensively for Korah.
In the junior game Korah cruised to a 44-0 victory.
Midway through the opening quarter, Lukis Joy Stoycheff opened the scoring for the Colts on a 25-yard touchdown run. The convert on the play from Ryder Strachen made it a 7-0 game.
In the final seconds of the first quarter, Korah quarterback Brett Koski hit Marciano Cranston for a five-yard touchdown pass to extend the Colts lead. Strachen hit the convert to make it 14-0.
In the early stages of the second quarter, Koski hit Nolan Coudert for a 14-yard touchdown pass and Strachen hit the convert to make the score 21-0.
The Colts made it a 28-0 game thanks to a 17-yard touchdown pass by Koski to Gevin Grisdale and convert by Strachen.
After a safety made it 30-0, Korah’s Drew Albury scored on a 33-yard touchdown run in the final minute of the second quarter. The convert by Strachen made the score 37-0 heading into the half.
Lucas Fabricino added to Korah’s lead on a 27-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Strachenès convert on the play capped off the scoring.
Albury finished the day with 104 yards rushing on three carries for the Colts while Cranston had 47 yards receiving on a pair of catches.
Defensively for Korah, Logan Lajunen had three tackles while Gabe Phillips, Max Fuselli, Evan Boville, and Robin Price had 2.5 each.
Evan Missere ran the ball four times for 34 yards offensively for the Steelhawks while Kane Lambert had five tackles defensively.
Simon McLean and Griffin Delparte added four tackles each for the Steelhawks.
With the win, Korah finishes regular season play with a 5-0 record while Superior Heights finishes at 2-4.
