Playing well of late the Soo Greyhounds went into action last night against the Oshawa Generals trying to win their second straight game and increase their undefeated streak to a modest three games. The Generals on the other hand were looking to win their fifth straight game after downing the Sudbury Wolves 3-1 Friday night in Sudbury.

The Greyhounds played solid throughout but in the end it wasn't enough as the Generals beat the Hounds 4-2 at Memorial Gardens.

The Greyhounds opened the scoring midway through the first period as rookie Brian Remple scored his first Ontario Hockey League goal on a set-up from fellow rookie Tyler Dutchyshen at 9:09 of the period. The Generals fought back to tie the game at 12:53 of the second as Brandon Nolan scored his fifth goal of the season.

In the third period Petr Taticek gave the Greyhounds the lead 48 seconds into the period, but rookie Adam Berti tied the game at 4:01 of the period. Just over four minutes later overage rookie Anthony Aquino, who spent time with Merrimack in the NCAA but made the move to the OHL this season, scored his seventh goal of the season to give the Generals a 3-2 lead.

Jamie Johnson secured the win for Oshawa with a shorthanded, empty net goal with just under a minute left in the game. Chris Beckford-Tseu was solid in the Generals net stopping 31 shots for the win. Joey Biasucci played well between the pipes for the Hounds stopping 29 shots including two big saves early on Ben Eager and Matt Maccarone. Biasucci was named the games first star.

Next action for the Greyhounds is Friday October 25th when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers. The next home date for the Hounds is October 30th when the Plymouth Whalers pay their first visit to Memorial Gardens.
