The Great North Midget Hockey League championship series resumes here this weekend with the best-of-five final between the Soo North Stars and the Sudbury Lockerby Nickel Capitals tied at a game apiece. Game three is Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens. Game four will be played at John Rhodes Community Centre on Sunday at 2 p.m. The teams split the first two games of the series last weekend in the Nickel City with Sudbury taking the opener 5-4 in overtime before the North Stars rebounded for a 3-2 verdict. Overall, the North Stars have a playoff record of 7-1, having swept the Kapuskasing Flyers in the quarterfinals and the New Liskeard Cubs in the semis. A good mix of goaltending, blueline play and scoring, the North Stars are led by puckstopper Michael Maulucci, defencemen Dustin Curts and Trevor Solomon and forwards David Turco, Adam Combs, Michael Sharp, Nick Tombari and the hard-nosed Cory Sewell.
