There will be two teams of Greyhounds playing out of the Soo in the fall. The Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League are changing their name to the Jr. Greyhounds. Team spokesman Rick Lacell said the move is being made to cement the relationship between the NOJHL club and the Ontario Hockey League Greyhounds. "This shows the commitment the Greyhounds have to us in the form of an affiliation," said Lacell, director of public relations for the NOJHL team. The Thunderbirds were founded by Sam Biasucci three years ago. Then, a year ago, Biasucci and partners John Vanbiesbrouck and Lou Lukenda purchased the OHL Greyhounds. Biasucci served as president of both teams last season. He will continue as president of the Greyhounds but will now act as chairman of the board of the Jr. Greyhounds. Pat Egan, who had served on the board of the Thunderbirds, is the new president of the Jr. Greyhounds.
