HOUNDS MOVE INTO SIXTH PLACE

The Greyhounds defeated the Sudbury Wolves 6-1 Tuesday to move into sixth place within the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League. The win in Sudbury also ended a seven-game road trip for the Soo that produced a 3-3-1 record and seven points. The Hounds now play their next five games on home ice, beginning this Friday night against the Windsor Spitfires. Tuesday in Sudbury, defenceman Rob Dmytruk gained revenge on his former team by scoring two goals for the Hounds. Matt Herneisen with his 22nd, Petr Taticek, Ryan Kitchen and Jeff Doyle also scored for the Soo. Adam Munro made 39 saves for the Hounds, who were outshot 40-24 by the Wolves. With 14 games to play in the regular season, the Hounds trail the fifth place London Knights by just four points. But the Soo is only one point up on both the Owen Sound Attack and the Guelph Storm and has just three more points than the Erie Otters. The Hounds are now 21-25-5-3 on the season and are 6-4-2-2 since the New Year for 16 out of a possible 28 points.
