It’s been quite a run for the Korah Colts junior football team.
The program continued to roll on Saturday afternoon becoming the first team in Sault history to capture four straight NOSSA titles by going unbeaten.
The Colts junior team last lost a game in 2019 and the unbeaten run continued Saturday with a 51-12 victory over Sudbury’s LoEllen Knights at Superior Heights.
Korah opened the scoring early as Drew Albury ran the ball in from 50 yards out 2:24 into the opening quarter. The convert by Ryder Strachen made it a 7-0 game.
Korah extended the lead to 13-0 thanks to a 20-yard touchdown run by Lukis Joy-Stoycheff.
After LoEllen conceded a safety to make it a 15-0 game, Joy-Stoychef scored on a 75-yard touchdown run on Korah’s next possession. The convert by Strachen on the play made it 22-0.
Nolan Coudert added to Korah’s lead with just under two minutes to go in the opening half on a 23-yard touchdown run to make it 28-0.
Korah took a 37-0 lead into the half thanks to a 30-yard touchdown pass by Brett Koski to Gevin Grisdale and the convert by Strachen and then the Knights conceding a safety.
Korah added a pair of touchdowns – a 17-yard interception return for a major and a 22-yard pass from Koski to Grisdale along with converts from Strachen – to make it 51-0.
LoEllen got on the board in the fourth quarter as quarterback Adrian Aho hit Connor Monahan and Noah Skrobot for 75-yard touchdown passes.
Grisdale finished the day with 59 yards receiving on three catches for Korah.
Joy-Stoycheff had 99 yards rushing on six carries.
Defensively for Korah, Greyson Avery had 3.5 tackles for Korah.
