Saints continue to roll in girls hoops

The St. Basil Saints continue to roll in the High School Girls Basketball League as the senior Saints cruised to a 38-21 win over the Sir James Dunn Eagles on Tuesday. Kaitlin DeBoer led the Saints with nine points while Aine Coccimiglio added eight.

Kaitlin DeBoer led the Saints with nine points while Aine Coccimiglio added eight. Christina Whitmell led the Eagles with eight points while Ashling McWilliam added seven.

In the junior contest, Abby DiDonato scored a game high 16 points to led St. Basil past Sir James Dunn 43-29. Laura DiDonato added six points for the winners while Sarah Miller led the Eagles with eight points.

At Mount St. Joseph College, the Korah Colts swept the home court Royals.

In senior, Liza Turpin scored 13 points and Larissa Graham 12 to pace the Colts to a 48-32 win. Heidi Lewis replied with 12 for the Royals.

In junior, Christina Medaglia's 10 points and Kaitlyn Train's eight led Korah to a 40-28 win. Vanessa Chaimbrone led the Royals with 10 points while Miranda Chaimbrone scored six.

At White Pines, Kristen Timusk drained 15 points and Sam Marasco 10 to led the Bawating Braves to a 44-35 senior division win over the Wolverines. Kelly Meincke scored a game high 18 points for White Pines and Holly Maskell added eight.

White Pines edged Bawating 42-41 in the junior contest as Miriam Pinder led the winners with 15 points and Ashley Clingen added 12. LaToya Busque with 15 and Amanda Whitmell with 14 replied for the Braves.
