*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:
Ashley Browning
This week's Sault College Cougar Profile of the Week belongs to Ashley Browning.
Ashley is in her graduating year of the Massage Therapy Program and is in her second year with the Cougar squad. Though standing at a mere 5'6, she starts at the Power position and uses her strength to get balls past the defenders.
In the game on Saturday, Ashley contributed 10 kills and 8 aces as they bypassed St. Clair Saints, 3 games to 1.
"With Ashley graduating this year, and only 4 games left, she has had a strong weekend, especially in the 3rd set against Humber. When Ashley comes to play she's a force to reckon with. Her consistent strong serving helps to generate points" states coach Jeremy Murdoch.
Browning, a rookie last year, earned herself the Most Improved Player for the Sault College Varsity Volleyball team.
A native of Barrie, Browning played club ball with the Georgian Cubs and also had a great career with Barrie North Collegiate as a high school player before coming to Sault College. Along with volleyball Ashley has competitive experience in baseball, rugby and swimming.
You can see Ashley Browning, with the rest of the Lady Cougar team live in action this Friday February 4th at 8pm as they host Sheridan College, and Saturday February 5th at 2pm against Lambton College.
