The SalDan/National Supply Pee Wee Wildcats recorded a city first in convincing fashion.

The Wildcats became the city's first girls pee wee team to claim a tournament championship after shutting out Gloucester 4-0 in the championship game of a tournament in Ottawa over the weekend.

Kelsey Bentrovato recorded the championship shutout while the goals, which were all posted in the second period, were scored by Jasmine Roy, Brittany Syms, Olivia Pavoni and Jessica D'Angelo. Stephanie Luciani recorded a pair of assists.

The Wildcats opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Kanata as Katie Pietrzakowski scored twice and Roy added another. The team followed with a 4-1 win over Gloucester as Roy scored twice and singles went to Mariah Krancevich and Syms.

In their final preliminary game, Roy scored a hat trick, Syms added two while Krancevich added another in a 6-0 win over Uxbridge. Jessica Grisdale and Taylor Rocca recorded two assists each.

The locals advanced into the final with a 3-1 semi-final win over Oakville. Pietrzakowski scored twice and Roy added another.

*** BANTAM BB WILDCATS:

The Microage Sault Female Hockey Association Bantam BB Wildcats returned home from the Whitby Wolves Annual Tournament with a silver medal.

After finishing the preliminary round with a 2-1 record and gaining a semi-final win, the Wildcats fell 7-1 to Durham West in the championship game. Brianne Veale scored the lone Wildcats goal.

In the semi-final, Katie Komsa, Andrea Brunetta and Kayla Leishman scored once each in a 3-2 win over Kingston.

The Wildcats opened the tournament with a 9-3 win over Gloucester. Veale scored three times while singles went to Laura Duguay, Komsa, Brunetta, Sara Amato, Hailey Summers and Mallory Lasage.

Miranda Medve recorded the shutout and goals were scored by Komsa and Leishman in a 2-0 win over Belleville. Komsa then scored the lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Whitby.

*** AOE BANTAM WILDCATS:

The AOE Bantam Wildcats captured a silver medal at the Kitchener Fallfest Tournament this past weekend.

The Wildcats were blanked 3-0 in the championship game by Waterloo after advancing to the title game with a 3-1 preliminary round record.

In the tournament opener, Toni-Lynn Trovarello and Amanda Giunti scored in a 2-1 win over Markham. Shannon MacInnis, Jordana Sacco, Tessa Kasch and Krista McClelland scored once each in a 4-1 win over Kitchener.

In the third game, Stephanie Graham recorded the shutout in a 2-0 win over Cold Creek with Sacco and McClelland providing the scoring. Amber Soltys then scored the lone goal as the pesky Waterloo squad defeated the Wildcats 2-1.
