Source for Sports continues to remain the lone unbeaten team through four weeks of play with record of two wins and three ties while Algoma Insurance holds the first place lead for the third consecitive week..

Source for Sports remains undefeated after picking up their third tie of the season and Crawford's Canines finally tasted the thrill of victory with a hard-fought win Monday night.

Skip's Kweok came up with two huge wins in week 4 outscoring their opponents 14-2 in the process. Sunday they defeated Crawford's Canines 6-1 and then continued their scoring rampage Monday night with an 8-1 victory against White Oak Paint.

In Skip's win over the Canines, Debbie Desgagne scored a hattrick, including the winner, while Pam Booth added two goals and two assists. Rose Jones scored Skip's other goal and had one assist while Amanda Fata pitched in with two assists and Christine Robertson (1).

Lois Pine scored Crawford's lone goal from Chrissy Wade and Rosalee Boissoneau.

In Monday's win against White Oak Paint, Amanda Fata led the way, scoring not only her first goal of the season, but a hattrick, including the winner, while also adding three assists. Pam Booth also had a big night scoring twice and adding two helpers.

Debbie Desgagne had two goals and one assist and Natalie Barry scored once and had two assists. Mona Jones pitched in with three assists. White Oak Paint's only goal came on an unassisted effort from Julie Hodkinson.

In Sunday's other game, Joanne Pine scored a hattrick for Country Way and Sue Chiblow and Donna Smith each added a helper as they skated to a 3-1 win over Palmer Paving. Jean Feagan scored her first of the year for Palmer while Tracey Maitland had the only assist.

Crawford's Canines rebounded from Sunday's loss against Skip's and battled to a 2-1 win over Country Way Monday night.

The Canines fell behind 1-0 after a goal by Country Way's Francine 'Flash' Floreani. Crawford's Shelli Ubriaco evened things up less than a minute later with assists from Chrissy Wade and Sabrina Fischer.

Wade then scored the winner, her first of the season, early in the second frame with Lois Pine picking up the only assist.

Once again Source for Sports eluded defeat with a 2-2 tie against Algoma Insurance.

With Source's leading scorer, Lisa Venier, out of the line up (back injury) teammates Karen Gartshore and Stephanie Bean stepped up their game to lead the attack. Gartshore had both goals for Source, her first of the season, and Bean had two assists. Donna May Sayers-Lariviere pitched in with one assist.

Debbie Beauchamp had both Algoma goals as the teams traded leads twice during the game.

Source for Sports held a 1-0 lead from the end of the first period until early in the third when Beauchamp evened the score. Theresa Glover and Jennifer Blahey assisted on the play. Just five minutes later Beauchamp added another, unassisted to put Algoma ahead.

Gartshore replied with four minutes remaining in the game to salvage the tie for Source giving them a 2-0-3 record, good for third place. Algoma Insurance remains in first place for the third straight week. Investors Group jumped from fourth to second in league standings after a 4-0 win over Lafarge Monday night. 'Pick up goalie' Melissa Holder earned her first shut out of the season as six different players pitched in on offence.

Doreen Shaw scored her first of the season. Carrie Mancuso, Ellen 'MacDash' MacDougall and Trish Evans also scored, while Debbie 'Gunner' Gallagher and Lisa Case had one assist each.

Games continue this Sunday at 4pm and 5pm at McMeeken Arena. The first game will feature the top two teams, Algoma Insurance and Investors Group. The second game will see Source for Sports meet up with White Oak Paint.

Monday night at the Echo Bay Sportsplex, White Oak Paint will play Country Way at 6:30pm, Crawford's Canines will take on Source for Sports at 7:30pm, Investors Group and Skip's Kweok face off at 8:30pm and Palmer Paving faces Lafarge at 9:30pm.
