MILL MARKET

Sault Ste. Marie’s newest Farmers’ Market— is incredibly proud to announce another new product stemming from a partnership of two Mill Market vendors.
Dalaina King and Christian Lowe have partnered to created a line of protective products for equestrian accessories including saddle soap and leather balm.
Dalaina King is the owner and developer of Soap Garden – her passion for cosmetics began at a very young age when she would be caught playing with her Mother’s makeups.
Dalaina began a degree in biochemistry and clinical laboratory science, and graduated as a massage therapist.
Both backgrounds translate into her handcrafted soaps and cosmetics – developed with veneration for chemistry, simple ingredients, and a deep respect for her customers’ needs.
Christian Lowe is the owner of and artisan behind Paramount Saddlery, providing custom made saddles for customers across North America.
This year Christian is developing new products, including book covers, satchels, belts, and dog collars - all made with his favourite medium – leather.
In 2015, Christian and Dalaina met while sharing a booth at Mill Market and discovered a shared love for the beauty of handcrafted equestrian products.
After the successes of the Mill Square Incubation Team in creating new partnerships and growing businesses in the Canal District, and inspired by the Grist at the Mill event – Christian and Dalaina decided to work together to develop local equestrian lifestyle products.
Dalaina’s chemistry background helps her to design these friendly products that clean and protect leather goods – making them safer for both horse and rider.
“Customers have been asking us to create new products – so we listened!” says Dalaina of her their new products.
Dalaina is eagerly expanding their line up, including a waterless shampoo for horse-care in the winter.
Christian adds – “We’re excited to launch here at Mill Market – but thrilled to let everyone know about our plans to take this new equestrian line to web sales and across North America”
