Moonlight Magic Hot Chocolate winner

SAULT STE. MARIE - Who has the best hot chocolate on Queen Street?

The votes are in and according to the Moonlight Magic shoppers, their favourite was Shabby Motley.

Tasha Varpio, Downtown Association manager, declared Shabby Motley the winner of the 2014 Moonlight Magic Mug and presented them with a trophy.  

The Downtown Association hosted the first annual Moonlight Magic Hot Chocolate Competition last Thursday during their annual kick off to the holiday season event.

Twelve businesses (Solo Trattoria, Summit Church, Shabby Motley, Planetary Pride, Café Natura, Q Café, Embers, Sweet Greetings, The Country Way, Dish, City Meat Market and the Heritage Discovery Centre) entered the contest serving up their signature hot chocolate recipes on the street.

“A great big thank you to all the businesses for participating and to all the people who braved the weather and came downtown,” said Varpio. “We were thrilled with the turnout and hope to make this an annual event.”

This first-time event raised over $600 to support our local Soup Kitchen.
