TORONTO — Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews has taken another step towards returning to Toronto's lineup. The 20-year-old suited up for his first full practice Monday since suffering a shoulder injury on Feb. 22.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Arizona Coyotes have granted head coach Rick Tocchet a leave of absence while he deals with a family illness. Coyotes general manager John Chayka made the announcement Monday.

NEW YORK — Winnipeg Jets right-winger Patrik Laine, Boston Bruins left-wing Brad Marchand and Pittsburgh Penguins centre Evgeni Malkin have been named the NHL's three stars for the week ending Sunday.

WASHINGTON — Winnipeg Jets top centre Mark Scheifele remains out with an upper-body injury and is expected to miss Tuesday night's game at Nashville. Coach Paul Maurice says he's going to be cautious with Scheifele with the playoffs a month away.

PITTSBURGH — Jamie Oleksiak scored a goal against his former team to help the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Sunday night. Oleksiak scored his fifth of the season, while Evgeni Malkin got his 39th and added an assist.

PITTSBURGH — Evgeni Malkin is in the midst of a scoring race, while the Pittsburgh Penguins compete for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. Teammate Jamie Oleksiak helped the cause with a goal against his former team.

CALGARY — Christopher Gibson refused to take all the credit after backstopping the New York Islanders to a much-needed win on Sunday. The rookie goalie made 50 saves as the Islanders beat the Calgary Flames 5-2 to snap an eight-game losing streak.

CHICAGO — One day after a flurry of Boston power-play goals doomed them, Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks tightened up and turned the tables on the Bruins.

CHICAGO — Boston Bruins leading scorer Brad Marchand, who sat out Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks with an upper-body injury, is sidelined day to day.
